NMU to Host a Pair of GLIAC Contests This Weekend

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Northern Michigan University Men's Basketball team is set to host their first two GLIAC home games of the season this weekend. 

The team will host the Ferris State Bulldogs on Friday, December 9 at 5:30 p.m.  They will then welcome the Lake Superior State Lakers on Sunday, December 11 with tip-off set for 1 p.m.

A Look at the Wildcats
The Wildcats are off to a 6-3 (1-1) start to the season. Northern is outscoring their opponents 725 (80.6 ppg) to 699 (77.7 ppg), and outrebounding their opponents 306 (34.0 rpg) to 269 (29.9 rpg).  Both have aided the Wildcats to their 6-3 start. 

Max Bjorklund is leading the way in the scoring department, averaging 22.2 ppg, while adding 5.0 rpg.  

Brian Parzych is second in scoring with 15.8 ppg, while adding 4.0 rpg, and he is tied for the team lead in assists with 29. Parzych is also shooting 92 percent from the free throw line (33-36).  

Dylan Kuehl is averaging 10.2 ppg, and is leading the team with 5.3 rpg, and 11 total blocks.

A Look at the Ferris State Bulldogs
The Bulldogs are off to a 6-2 (2-0) start to the season.  

Ben Davidson is leading the team in points per game with 13.3 ppg, while adding 3.6 rpg, and 3.3 apg.  Solomon Oraegbu is second on the team in points per game with 11.8 ppg, while adding 3.3 rpg.  Ethan Erickson is third in points per game with 11.5 ppg.

Dolapo Olayinka is leading the team in rebounds with 6.8 rpg, while adding 10.7 ppg.  


A Look at the Lake Superior State Lakers
The Lakers have started the year with a 3-4 (2-0) record.  

The Lakers are led by Caden Ebeling who is averaging 14.3 ppg, while adding 5.3 rpg. Tyson Edmondson is second on the team in points per game with 11.7 ppg.  Edmondson is also adding 3.4 rpg and 1.6 steals per game. Kemon Bassett is averaging 11.6 ppg, and is leading the team in rebounds per game in 6.1 rpg.
