MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Northern Michigan University women's basketball team is is back at the Berry Events Center this weekend for a single game against Illinois-Springfield on Saturday, December 17 at 1 p.m.
Illinois-Springfield presents a familiar foe for head coach Casey Thousand, as she served as the head coach at UIS the previous three seasons.

A Look at the Wildcats
The Wildcats are off to a 7-4 (3-1 GLIAC) start to the season. Last weekend, NMU was home and fell to Ferris State 60-54 before getting a bounce-back win over Lake Superior State 72-64. Northern is averaging 63.3 points/game while holding opponents to 56.5.
Makaylee Kuhn is leading the team in ppg (16.5), rpg (7.1), and total assists with 35. Kuhn has scored in double-figures in all but one game and has hit at least 18 points in five straight.
Mackenzie Holzwart is second on the team in ppg (8.1), third in rpg (4.6), second in assists with 23, and first in steals with 19.
A Look at Illinois-Springfield
The Illinois-Springfield Prairie Stars are 0-10 this season, coming off of a 82-77 defeat at Lake Superior State on Thursday. This season, UIS is averaging over 70 ppg, but are allowing over 80 ppg.
