MARQUETTE, Mich., - The Northern Michigan University Volleyball team will look to remain hot as they face off against the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals in the quarterfinal round of the GLIAC championship. The match is slated for November 9, at 6 p.m in the Vandament Arena in Marquette, Mich.
Northern finished with the second seed in the GIAC standings, with a 22-7 overall record and a 14-4 record against conference opponents. Saginaw Valley finished with the seventh seed in the GLIAC, with a 10-19 overall record and a 5-13 record against conference opponents.Â
Northern took home victories in both matchups against the Cardinals this season, where both matches were straight-set victories.

The Cardinals are led by Madison Thompson, who is fourth in the GLIAC in kills, kills per set, and total attacks. Rylee Zimmer is second on the team in scoring, coming in at 16th in the GLIAC in kills and 15th in kills per set.
