Volleyball Closes Regular Season at Home with Senior Day on Saturday

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Women's Volleyball team is set for back-to-back games at home over the weekend, facing off against inter-conference opponent Purdue University Northwest on Friday, November 4, and the Parkside Rangers on Saturday, November 5 for senior day to cap off the regular season.

Senior Day on Saturday
Northern Michigan will honor Lizzy Stark, Alli Yacko, and Madeline Crowley before the match on Saturday to recognize their outstanding contributions to NMU volleyball, athletics, and the community throughout their time in Green and Gold. 


A Look at the Wildcats
The Wildcats are third in the GLIAC with a 20-7 overall record and a 12-4 conference record. Jacqueline Smith is second in the GLIAC in Kills per set (4.35) and total kills (444). Meghan Meyer leads the GLIAC in hitting percentage (.399), as well as sets (102). The team hitting percentage is third in the GLIAC at .209.

The 'Cats are on the tail end of a seven-game inter-conference streak to end their regular season, where they are 4-1 against divisional opponents in that stretch.

A Look at Purdue Northwest 

The Pride are 10th in the GLIAC with a 9-18 overall record and a 2-14 conference record. Lauren Sanders leads her team in kills per set (2.46) and is second on the team in total kills (172). 

The Pride are on the back end of a seven-game inter-conference streak to end their season, where they are 1-4 against divisional opponents. 


A Look at Parkside
The Rangers are 9th in the GLIAC with a 9-18 overall record, and a 3-13 record against conferenced opponents. Reese Rossnagel leads her team in kills per set (3.47) and total kills (364). 

The Rangers are also finishing up their regular season with a seven-game inter-conference streak, where they are 1-4 in their first five.


Previous Matchups
The last time the 'Cats played Purdue was on September 24 in Hammond, Ind., where the 'Cats were victorious in straight sets. The Wildcats are 5-0 in their history against Purdue, outscoring the Pride 15-1 in that span.

The 'Cats last faced off against Parkside on September 23 in Kenosha, WI., where they took the match in straight sets. The Wildcats are 8-4 in their history against Parkside and are currently on a five-game winning streak against Parkside, outscoring the Rangers 15-4 in that span.
