Wildcats Welcome Two NSIC Opponents to the Berry This Weekend

MARQUETTE, Mich. - Coming off a home-opening win on Tuesday over Finlandia, the Wildcats remain at home coming out of Thanksgiving, welcoming a pair of Minnesota opponents to Marquette. 

Northern (4-1) will face Minnesota Duluth (3-1) on Friday, November 26 and St. Cloud State (2-1) on Saturday, November 27. Tip-off from the Berry Events Center will be at 3 p.m. each afternoon. Minnesota Duluth (No. 2) and St. Cloud State (No. 7) were each picked to finish in the top-half of the NSIC Preseason Poll.

Last Time Out
The Wildcats defeated the Finlandia Lions 76-49. Kayla Tierney and Abi Fraaza each had 14 points. NMU shot 27-60 (45%) from the floor. 


A Look at the Wildcats
Preseason First Teamer Makaylee Kuhn is leading the team in points/game (12.8) and assists/game (3.8). Abi Fraaza is averaging 10.6 points/game, scoring in double-figures each of the last three games while also pulling down at least 6 rebounds in each of those games. 

As a team, NMU is averaging 74.2 points/game while shooting 44.6% from the floor. The Wildcats have also been efficient from deep, knocking them in at a rate of 37.3%.

A Look at St. Cloud State
The Huskies are 2-1 on the young season, coming off a 59-56 conference defeat to Minnesota Duluth. They are averaging 69.3 points/game, led by Jada Eggebrecht at 18.0 points/game. Katrina Theis leads the team on the glass with 8.0 rebounds/game while also averaging double-figures at 11.8 points/game.
