MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Northern Michigan University Wildcats Volleyball team has made it back into the NCAA Tournament, as they have earned the No. 8 seed in the Midwest region and are set to play No. 1 Quincy on Thursday, November 17 at 8:30 p.m. in Quincy, IL.
The Wildcats (23-8) are coming off a heartbreaking five-set defeat to Grand Valley State University in the GLIAC semifinals match. Quincy (27-2) also comes off a semifinal exit in the GLVC tournament, dropping straight sets to Lewis.

A Look at the Wildcats
NMU comes into the match with a 23-8 overall record and is the eighth seed in the NCAA tournament Midwest region. The 'Cats defeated No. 7 Saginaw Valley State in the GLIAC Quarterfinals by a score of 3-1, then lost to No. 6 Grand Valley State University 3-2.
The 'Cats are led by
Jacqueline Smith, who nationwide is second in total attacks, third in kills, sixth in points per set, seventh in attacks per set, and ninth in kills per set.
Lizzy Stark is second on the team in kills and kills per set,
Lauren Van Remortel paces the 'Cats in assists, and

A Look at Quincy
Quincy comes into the match with a 27-2 record and the number one seed in the NCAA tournament Midwest region. The Hawks beat No. 8 Maryville in the first round then lost to No. 4 Lewis in the semifinal round in straight sets.
The Hawks have a balanced attack with Mattison Norris leading the way in kills, followed closely by Emma Wijnbergen and Emily Rehagen. Makayla Knoblauch paces the Hawks in assists, and America Galvan leads the team in digs.
