Box Score MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Wildcats of the Northern Michigan University volleyball team dropped the final match of a three-game homestand 1-3 to Davenport University in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action Sunday afternoon.

SET ONE |
Set one was a close affair as the teams tied each other five times.
The Wildcats claimed their first win at 16-15 after a 3-0 run. A Meghan Meyer kill followed by kills from Lizzy Stark and Olivia Webber gave NMU the advantage.
The Panthers used a 5-0 run to take the lead and hold it for the rest of the 25-19 victory in frame one.

SET TWO |
After a 3-0 DU run to start the second set, the Wildcats put their feet on the gas and put together an 8-2 run to go up 8-5.
The lead held for the home team until 14-14 when the Panthers tied it. There were seven more ties after the 14-all mark as both teams fought to take control of the match.
NMU scored the final two points of the set with one kill each from Stark and Webber en route to the 25-23 set win.

SET THREE |
In the third set, the Wildcats got off to an early lead of as much as four points.
The Vandament Arena crowd saw the NMU hold the lead for a majority of the set as they pulled ahead even further ahead at 18-12 thanks to a Jacqueline Smith service ace.
DU came back late in the frame and took the lead at 24-23. The Panthers closed out the set from that point and took it 25-23.

SET FOUR |
The 'Cats struck first in the fourth set and held the lead until back-to-back Davenport points gave the visitors a 10-9 lead.
NMU tied it at 10-10 with an Ania Hyatt kill, but the Panthers pulled ahead again and built a four-point lead.
It was not over for the Wildcats as they showed no quit and tied the match at 23-23 with a Smith kill.
The comeback fell short as DU scored the final two points of the match and took the set 25-23 and the match 3-1.

STAT LEADERS |
Smith again led the NMU team in kills with 16. Freshman Olivia Webber tallied a career-high 13 kills to be next for the Wildcats with a hitting percentage of .480. Meghan Meyer also tallied double-digit kills with 13 and was next in hitting percentage with a mark of .435.
Meyer was the top of the 'Cats team in blocks with six.
Lauren Van Remortel had a team-high 47 assists.
Stark had 14 digs for NMU while Caylie Barlage contributed 12.
