MARQUETTE, Mich. - Northern Michigan University plays their last women's soccer match of the regular season when they face off against Michigan Technological University this Sunday at 1 p.m. inside the Superior Dome.
This Sunday is also Senior Day for the Wildcats as Isabela Cardoso, Grace Filipiak, Josie Bos, Chloe Holt and Erin Gibson will all be honored for their hard work and contributions to the team.

PRESEASON POLL
The Wildcats, coming off a GLIAC Championship match appearance, came in third in the GLIAC Preseason Poll. They notched 49 points and finished five points ahead of Michigan Tech.
KEY RETURNERS
Senior Caroline Halonen, the 2021 GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year and All-GLIAC First Team honoree, returns to the Wildcats attack. Last season the midfielder was ranked in the top ten in NCAA Division II in several statistic categories. She was second in NCAA Division II in goals (11), fourth in total points (23), and seventh in goals per game (.92).
Sophomore Brooke Pietila is also back for NMU after a season that earned her All-GLIAC Honorable Mention honors.
Goalkeeper Shenae Kreps returns to the goal for her senior season. Kreps was in net for all eight Wildcat wins and had 27 saves and a .643 save percentage in her first season in Marquette.
STAT LEADERS
After the past week of GLIAC play, Northern still has two players on the conference leaderboards.
Senior keeper Shenae Kreps moves up to tie for first place in saves with a total of 71 this season.
Senior Caroline Halonen has been on the leaderboard for four consecutive weeks and is tied for second in total shots with 60.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wildcats are coming off two big wins from this past Halloween weekend.
Starting Friday, NMU won over Saginaw Valley State University 3-2 at home.
Justina L'Esperance , Isabela Cardoso and Maria Storm each had a goal apiece, and goalkeeper Shenae Kreps had seven amazing saves while she was in net for all 90 minutes of the game.
The 'Cats spent Halloween at Purdue Northwest, where they dominated The Pride in a 3-0 shutout.
Isabelle Brusilow, Brenna Musser and Stephanie Trujillo each contributed one goal. Shenae Kreps had six saves in the 90-minute match, the shutout is Kreps's 17th career win putting her second for most career wins in NMU women's soccer history.

NMU has a 9-9-2 record against rival team Michigan Tech, and the 'Cats are looking to take the lead in the series with a win inside the Superior Dome.
