Wildcat  PRESEASON POLL

The Wildcats, coming off a GLIAC Championship match appearance, came in third in the GLIAC Preseason Poll. They notched 49 points and finished five points ahead of Michigan Tech.

Wildcat   KEY RETURNERS

Senior Caroline Halonen, the 2021 GLIAC Offensive Player of the Year and All-GLIAC First Team honoree, returns to the Wildcats attack. Last season the midfielder was ranked in the top ten in NCAA Division II in several statistic categories. She was second in NCAA Division II in goals (11), fourth in total points (23), and seventh in goals per game (.92).

Sophomore Brooke Pietila is also back for NMU after a season that earned her All-GLIAC Honorable Mention honors.

Goalkeeper Shenae Kreps returns to the goal for her senior season. Kreps was in net for all eight Wildcat wins and had 27 saves and a .643 save percentage in her first season in Marquette.

Wildcat   STAT LEADERS

Two Wildcats remain on the GLIAC individual leaderboard.

Taking second in the conference in saves, senior goalkeeper Shenae Kreps earned her spotlight with a total of 43 saves.

Continuing her streak, midfielder Caroline Halonen is still first on the GLIAC leaderboard for shots taken with a grand total of 51.

Wildcat   LAST TIME OUT

Going 2-0 on the weekend, the 'Cats defeated both Parkside and Purdue Northwest.

Starting last weekend out strong, NMU defeated Parkside in a 4-0 win. The Wildcats proved to be too much for the Rangers with a 34-5 margin in total shots.

Leading the team, Isabela Cardoso scored two of the four goals the 'Cats took from the Rangers and also earned an assist.

With an 8-0 win against Purdue Northwest, the 'Cats took home the largest NCAA Division II win NMU women's soccer has seen since 2009. Once again showing dominance, the 'Cats outshot the Pride   31-5 and had control of the ball for 62% of the match.

Caroline Halonen and Brenna Musser each scored two goals in the match adding to the team's 8-0 win over the Pride.

Wildcat   NMU VS FERRIS STATE

The last time that the Wildcats faced the Bulldogs was in the spring 2021 season. The 'Cats have a .556 winning percentage over the Bulldogs all-time and look to add to that this weekend.

Wildcat   NMU VS GRAND VALLEY

The Wildcats have already seen the Lakers this season in an early September match. Falling to the team earlier this season, NMU looks to avenge the loss and bring home another GLIAC conference win.
