SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. — The Wildcat hockey team (16-13-4, 14-10-1-1 WCHA) dropped game one of the Cappo Cup series against storied foe Lake Superior State University (11-20-4, 9-12-4-4 WCHA), 6-1, Friday night.

Luke Voltin tallied the lone Wildcat goal, finding the back of the net at 5:41 of the third period on a two-on-one breakaway with Brandon Schultz. Picking up the pass from Schultz, Voltin fired one home from the slot to cut the Laker lead to four.

The Wildcats finished the night with 26 shots, while making 27 saves combined between Nolan Kent and John Hawthorne in the crease.

Adam Roeder led the team in shots with four while Luke Voltin fired three on net, capitalizing on one chance for his sixth of the year.
