Close Contest Gets Away from Wildcats

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Northern Michigan University Men's Soccer fell to Davenport University 1-0 in a close Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup.

  STAT LEADERS

The Wildcats took 12 shots on the day, with six shots on goal, putting more on goal than the Panthers.

Senior Luca Lippert (Langen, Germany) led the effort with four shots and two on goal. Freshman Francisco Espinoza (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and junior Vegard Ervall (Trondheim, Norway) both tallied two shots. Four players added a shot for the day.

Sophomore Patrick Restum (Okemos, Mich.) notched three saves in goal.

  UP NEXT

NMU falls to 3-5 on the year, 2-2 in league play while Davenport moved to 3-3 and are now 3-0 in the GLIAC. The Wildcats return to the NMU Soccer Field this coming weekend and will host Northwood University Friday afternoon and Saginaw Valley State University Sunday.
