ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Northern Michigan University Lacrosse won their second-straight Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest with a 13-3 victory at Lewis University.

STAT LEADERS

Sophomore Bianca Kinder (Haslett, Mich.) led the offense with four goals and an assist. She also finished with a team-best five draw controls and forced one turnover. 

Angelica Bogden (Clarkston, Mich.) finished the day with four points, scoring one goal and adding three assists. Sophomore Ellie Bahr (Crystal, Minn.) and freshmen Emily Renfrew (Okemos, Mich.) and Jessica Daniels (Brighton, Mich.) each scored two goals. Renfrew aided the effort with three draw controls.

Sophomore Tess Kostelec (Columbia, Md.) and junior Graison Ringlever (Mattawan, Mich.) both notched a goal as well. 

Freshman goalkeeper Cam Stilson (Brighton, Mich.) tallied six saves on the afternoon.

TAKING AN EARLY LEAD

The Wildcats put the game away early as they scored ten-straight goals to start the game. Kinder got things started with a goal 56 seconds into the game, then Bahr added a second NMU goal just 22 seconds later. Both scored off passes from Bogden.

Daniels found the net followed by Renfrew to make it 4-0 less than three minutes in.  At the 24:18 mark, Kinder scored her second of the day to make it 5-0. With 21:16 on the clock, Bahr scored her 13^th of the season.

Daniels found the net on a free position shot before Ringlever scored her team-leading 22^nd goal of the season to make it 8-0 with 16:23 left in the first half. Kostelec added to the NMU advantage with her sixth of the season, and Kinder tallied her third of the day with 4:52 to go which gave NMU a 10-0 lead.

Lewis managed to score their first goal of the game with 1:42 left in the half, but Kinder scored her fourth of the day and fifth of the season to give the Wildcats an 11-1 lead at the break.

FINISH IT OUT

To open the second half, Bogden scored on a free position shot for her fifth of the day. Just two minutes into the half. Renfrew soon added her 15^th of the year to move the Wildcats ahead 13-1. The Flyers scored two goals over the game's final 23 minutes, but it wasn't enough as NMU captured a 13-3 win.

UP NEXT

The Wildcats improve to 3-6 on the season and are 2-3 in the GLIAC. The three wins are the most in the program history as are the two GLIAC wins. NMU continues GLIAC action Friday with a trip to Concordia University, St. Paul Friday night.
