HOW IT HAPPENED

The Wildcats kept the first set close but ultimately fell 25-23. The ranked Bulldogs then held on to capture 25-19 and 25-17 set victories for the 3-1 match win.

OFFENSIVE LEADERS

Pacing the NMU squad was junior Sarah Kuehn (Green Bay, Wis./De Pere) with nine kills. Senior Maggie Liebeck (Luxemburg, Wis./Luxemburg-Casco) added eight kills while Sophomore Leticia Antunes (Florianopolis, Brazil/Colegio Ofelia Fonseca) chipped in with seven kills

DEFENSIVE STAT LEADERS

Antunes also led the defense with 14 digs. Senior Autumn Monsma (Grand Haven, Mich.) posted 12 digs. At the net, Kuehn posted a team-best five total blocks. Senior Lynzi Svoboda (Minneapolis, Minn./Minneapolis Southwest) notched three blocks while Monsma and sophomore Cierra Martinez (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley) tallied two each.

Svoboda finished the match with 27 assists and now has 480 assists on the season, averaging 10.43 a set.

With the loss, NMU falls to 9-3 on the season, and 1-3 in GLIAC play while Ferris State improves to 9-3 and 4-0 in the league. The Wildcats will look to rebound Saturday afternoon as they host Northwood University in another GLIAC tilt.
