Wildcat Lacrosse Falls to Georgian Court

LAKEWOOD, N.J. — The Northern Michigan lacrosse team was dispatched, 15-1, by Georgian Court Friday afternoon at the GCU Track & Field Complex.

The Lions came out strong in the first half, building a 10-0 lead by the break. They then scored the second half's first four goals.

Shelby Klotz ended the scoreless streak for the Wildcats, sending a shot past Amber Neumann with 8:37 left in the game.

Nicole Barbella (1g-5a) led all players with six points. Arianna Quinlan and Samantha Fernandez were the leading goal scorers, each with three.

Brianna Bangle had three saves while Neumann made one. With four ground balls, Bangle tied two Lions for the game lead.

The Lions (1-5) led the Wildcats in shots, 27-3, and shots on goal, 18-2.

This was the Wildcats' first road game in program history. They played their first three at the Superior Dome.

The Wildcats, now 1-3, return to the field Sunday at 11 a.m. when they take on Shepherd in Shepherdstown, W. Va.
