Box Score TIFFIN, Ohio — The Northern Michigan football team closed the 2016 season by taking on Tiffin at Frost-Kalnow Stadium Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats held the Dragons to just two touchdowns in the second half but could not overcome an early deficit. They ultimately fell, 56-7.
Northern Michigan got on the board at the 3:34 mark of the third quarter when Jaranta Lewis, who was making his first start at quarterback since 2014, found Julian Crum for a six-yard score.
Pat Ryan led the Wildcat defense with 13 tackles while Julian Hornback and Keshawn Walker each recorded nine. Jalen Brooks had only four tackles, but a game-high two were for a loss.
Shaye Brown missed the game due to medical reasons. He wrapped up his collegiate career as the Wildcats' leader in career passing yards (9,267), career touchdowns (75), career completions (726) and career attempts (1,238). He also holds single-season records in touchdowns (30) and passing yards (3,123), both of which were set in 2015.
With the loss, Northern Michigan finished with a 3-8 (3-7 GLIAC) record.
