Volleyball Wins Last Regular Season Match at Findlay

FINDLAY, Ohio – The No. 19 Northern Michigan University volleyball team (21-5, 15-4 GLIAC) finished the regular season with a 3-1 win over the Findlay Oilers (13-15, 7-12 GLIAC). The Wildcats will now move on to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)Tournament where they will host Tiffin, Thursday (Nov.11) from Vandament Arena.

Northern won set number one (25-22), leading from start to finish. Findlay took set two 22-25 to even the score going into break. NMU came out hot to take sets three (25-18) and four (25-21) to win the match.

Andree Ring stepped up for the Wildcats with 13 kills, three digs and a service ace. Sami Vierk had 13 kills and Ana Lopes continued her strong play with 11 kills, 14 digs, a block and a block assist. Abby Lovell had 44 assists and Kristin Wetzel had 24 digs.

NMU hit a .269 attack percentage and recorded 9 service aces.

Findlay was led by Danielle Taflinger who had a match-high 14 kills.

NMU finished the season third in the GLIAC behind Hillsdale and Grand Valley. The Wildcats will host the No. 6 seed Tiffin Dragons on Thursday for a quarterfinal GLIAC Tournament matchup.
