Milton Braga

Milton Braga returns to the pool deck as the diving coach for his third year in his third stint in 2015-16. Braga served as the diving coach at NMU from 1993-95 and 1996-99.

Braga, a native of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, was a two-time Olympian for Brazil. He dove at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal and the 1980 Olympics in Moscow and set numerous South American diving records. His highest Olympic finish was fifth in 1980.

Braga has over 20 years experience coaching college and high school athletes. He was named the NCAA-II Diving Coach of the Year in 1996-97, while with the Wildcats. Before coming to NMU, Braga was the head diving coach at the University of Kentucky for three seasons.

Braga was also the second head coach of the NMU soccer team during the 1997 and 1998 seasons.

In his spare time, Braga enjoys running, listening to music, reading and being active in the outdoors. He has a bachelor’s degree in education.
