Jenna Bruttomesso

Jenna Bruttomesso is the Head of Strength and Conditioning and enters her 5th year at Northern Michigan University after joining the Wildcats in 2019.

Bruttomesso oversees and directs the strength and conditioning programs for the Wildcats’ 17 intercollegiate sports. 

Bruttomesso joined the Wildcats after spending 3 years as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Oakland University. While at Oakland, she designed and implemented strength training and conditioning workouts for women’s basketball, softball, soccer, golf, men and women’s swimming, and men and women’s cross country. She also assisted with the men’s and women’s track and field team. In addition, she implemented Stability Enhancement Systems with the women’s basketball team and applied that knowledge with other teams. 

Prior to Oakland, Bruttomesso was the graduate assistant at Tennessee Tech University. During her 2 years there she ran the strength and conditioning programs for women’s basketball, women’s softball, women’s soccer, and women’s track and field while assisting with the football team. 

From 2013-14, she served as the professional intern at Washington State University where she assisted with all olympic sport teams. Before earning the professional intern position, Bruttomesso was a student strength and conditioning volunteer for 3 years while competing as a student-athlete. 

As an athlete, Bruttomesso was a four-year varsity letter winner at Washington State University and was a team captain from 2011-2013. Bruttomesso was a member of the WSU Athletics All-Academic Team all four years and earned Pac-12 All-Academic Team honors two times. She also competed in the South African Olympic Swimming Trials in both 2008 and 2012. 

Bruttomesso is a certified member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS), and also holds certifications in RPR-2 and CrossFit. She received her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Washing State University and her master’s in Exercise Science from Tennessee Tech. Bruttomesso currently resides in Marquette with her husband Joe, and daughters Zora and Zinnia.
