Chris Kamal joins the Wildcats ahead of the 2026/27 season from the University of Alaska Anchorage, where he has been an assistant coach since the fall of 2023. He previously served as an assistant coach with the Seawolves from 2016-18 after serving as the director of hockey operations and strength and conditioning coach in 2015-16. 

Kamal was a four-year starter in goal for the Seawolves, appearing in 71 games and finishing his career with a 3.03 goals-against average and an .888 save percentage from 2010 to 2014. Kamal’s name appears multiple times in the UAA record book, including season shutouts (3, one shy of program record), career goals-against average (4th), and season goals-against average (4th). 

Kamal earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Alaska Anchorage in 2014 and has worked with the Anchorage Wolverines of the NAHL and the Atlanta Fire Hockey Club.
