A native of Marquette, Michigan, Golisek began as Assistant Director of Sports Information in April of 2023.
Golisek earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations with a concentration in sports from Northern Michigan University in May 2022. While studying, he worked as a sports information intern and served briefly on the university’s men’s ice hockey roster, suiting up as a goaltender during the 2021-22 season. In April 2023, he stepped into the role of Assistant Director of Sports Information for NMU, becoming the primary contact for multiple sports, including soccer, lacrosse, swimming & diving, golf, both nordic and alpine skiing, with secondary oversight of the hockey program.
In his current role with the university, Golisek oversees website management for the NMU Athletics and Marquette Marathon web pages and is responsible for producing statistics, creating press releases, and various print and digital media for his respective sports, among other duties.
On the personal front, Golisek continues to excel beyond the office and rink. In August 2024, he was a member of the “Wolfpack” team at the U.S. National Guts Frisbee Tournament held in Marquette, where he was named Tournament MVP for his efforts in leading his team to the championship. Moreover, he was selected to represent the United States as Team Captain of USA 3 in the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) 2024 World Guts Championship in Gold Coast, Australia.
