Biography

2013-14: Was a member of the 200-yard medley team that broke a school record with a time of 1:46.02, the relay team later broke the record a second time during the season at the GLIAC Championships with a time of 1:44.64. Took second in 200 backstroke at UW-Green Bay Invite. Competed at the NCAA Championships for the 400-yard freestyle relay.

2012-13: Earned second letter. Placed first in the 100-yard backstroke at Hillsdale (Oct. 13). At the St. Cloud State invite (Oct. 19-20) member of the wining 400-yard medley and freestyle relay teams, placed second in the 200-yard freestyle relay and second in the 100 backstroke. Won the 400-yard medley relay against UW-Eau Claire (Nov. 3) and finished first in the 100-yard backstroke. Placed second in the 400-yard medley relay, fifth in the 100 backstroke and eighth in 200 freestyle, 400 and 800 freestyle relay and third in 200-yard medley relay at UW-Stevens Point (Nov. 9-10). Finished fourth in the 800 freestyle relay, second in the 400 freestyle relay, fourth in the 200 backstroke and third in the 200 medley relay Calvin Invite (Nov. 29-Dec. 1); individually, finished fifth in the 100 backstroke, fourth in the 200 backstroke and eighth in the 200 freestyle. Placed seventh in the 200 freestyle and fourth in the 400 freestyle relays, seventh in the 200 back stroke, ninth in the 100 backstroke, fourth in the 800 and 200 medley relaysand 12th in the 200 freestyle at the GLIAC Championships (Feb. 6-9).

2011-12:  Lettered for the first time. Received the coaches’ award. A member of the winning 200 freestyle relay squad at St. Cloud/Minnesota-Moorhead, also placed second in the 200 freestyle and third in the 200 backstroke. Finished second in both the 400 freestyle relay and the 200 backstroke at Grand Valley, and third in the 200 individual freestyle. At Hillsdale, placed second in the 200 backstroke and 200 freestyle relay. Took fourth in the 200 backstroke and sixth in the 100 freestyle at the Calvin Invite. Swept all participating events at the UW-Oshkosh Invite: 100 and 200 freestyle, 200 medley and freestyle relays. Placed fifth in the 200 medley relay (1:47.01) and the 400 medley relay (3:54.26) at GLIAC, also finished third in the 200 backstroke and 12th in the 200 freestyle.

High School:  Lettered four times at DePere High School under Mindy Zielinski. Swam freestyle and backstroke. 2007 rookie of the year. 2009 MVP. 2010 MVP, captain and conference swimmer of the year. Hold records in 100 and 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke, and the 200 freestyle, 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays. Won the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke at conference and the 400 freestyle relay at sectionals. Swam for Green Bay YMCA. Team was state champions in 2011. Received the Melissa Kaplin Award. Also participated in track and field. Received the United States Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete Award.

Personal:  Likes running, triathlons, hiking, kayaking, camping and biking. Majoring in biology/physiology. Daughter of John and Jennie Bourguignon. Mother participated in collegiate athletics at UW-La Crosse. Sister, Katie is a freshman on the NMU swim team. Born on November 28, 1992.
