Biography

2015-16: Qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100 fly finishing in 10th place (55.25). Member of the 200 medley relay team that finished in 16th place at the NCAA Championships (1:45.54). Won the 100 butterfly (56.26) and finished in second place in the 100 freestyle (52.01) at the GLIAC Championships.

2014-15: Swam the second leg of the 400 medley relay that placed second at the GLIAC Championships (3:48.05). Competed on the 200 medley relay team that also finished second at the GLIAC Championship (1:43.85). Member of the 200 freestyle relay team that won at three meets with a season-best time of 1:38.43 at the Saginaw Valley State duel. Memeber of the 400 freestyle relay team that won the GLIAC Championships (2:28.14). Won the 100 freestyle at the UW-Stevens Point Invite (54.03) and the Grand Valley State/St. Cloud State Triangular.

2013-14: Competed at the NCAA Championships in the 400 freestyle. Took first place in three different events; 200 medley relay at Grand Valley State (1:49.38), 100 butterfly at Hillsdale (59.30) and the 400 medley relay at Minnesota State (3:57.50). Finished in second place in the 100 freestyle at Minnesota State (55.34).

2012-13: Earned first varsity letter. Named team’s Newcomer of the year. Won the 100 and 200 freestyles at the St. Cloud Invite. Member of the 400 medley relay team, placing first against UW-Eau Claire and individually won the 100 freestyle and backstroke races. At the Border Battle Invite, won the 100 butterfly and freestyle. Placed third in the 50 freestyle, second in the 400 medley and 800 freestyle relays and third in the 200 medley relay. At the GLIAC Championships, placed fourth in the 800 relay and 200 medley relay. Won the 100 butterfly setting a new school record (55.57). Placed fifth in the 100 breaststroke, ninth in the 100 freestyle and the 400 medley relay finished fourth setting a school record (3:49.01). Qualified for the NCAA Championships finishing ninth in the 100 butterfly and 49th in the 50 freestyle.

Before NMU: Participated in the freestyle, breaststroke and 200 IM. Qualified and competed in the Australian Olympic trials (2008 and 2012). Was an Australian age championship qualifier from 2007-12.

Personal: Enjoys reading, listening to music, art and cooking. Zoology major. Daughter of Kerry-Anne and Geoffrey Bennet. Born on August 1, 1993.
