Biography
2013: Finished seventh (24:35.3) at Michigan Tech and fifth (15:06.5) at the U.P. Championship. Placed 33rd (19:18:3) at UW-Parkside Open. Finished in the top 100 at the Roy Griak Invite and 48th at UW-Parkside. At the GLIAC Championships, placed 41st with a time of 23:57.4. Finished in 44th at the NCAA Regional Championship.
2012: Earned second letter. NCAA Division II All-Academic by USTFCCA. Placed sixth (14:55) at the U.P. Championship and 10th (20:45.8) at the Michigan Tech Open. Finished 31st (22:28.9) at the GLIAC Championship, 39th (23:20) at the Blugold Invite, 54th (22:50) at the NCAA Midwest Regional and 72nd (24:22.5) at the Roy Griak Invite. Named to GLIAC Academic Excellence Team.
2011: Lettered for the first time. NCAA Division II All-Academic by USTFCCA. Placed 21st at the NCAA Regional with a time of 22:52.4 good for 21st place overall and all-Midwest region. Placed 12th at the U.P. Cross Country Opener at MTU and seventh at the Northland College Invitational with a time of 19:56.6. Was the top NMU finisher at the St. Olaf Invite (11th), Roy Griak Invite (22nd; 23:17.4), U.P. College Championships (sixth; 23:58.2) and the GLIAC Championship (25th; 23:40.3).
High School: Varsity soccer: MVP, all-conference selection, had the most points and was the team captain. Varsity track: MVP, all-conference, state qualifier, Hamline Elite Meet qualifier, team captain, holds three school records: 4x800-meter, 1600-meter, 3200-meter. Also participated in junior varsity hockey.
Personal: 2011 graduate of Delano High School. Enjoys running, swimming, biking, playing hockey and soccer, reading and photography. Majoring in nursing. Daughter of Michael and Brita Halonen. Born on June 5, 1993.
