2019-20 Swimming and Diving
Biography
2018-19: Competed in six races at the NCAA Championships. Captured first in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle at the GLIAC Championships. Member of the GLIAC-winning 800-yard freestyle relay team.
2017-18: First place at the GLIAC Championships in both the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. Earned All-American honors in the 100-yard backstroke at the NCAA Championships. Broke the school's 50-yard and 100-yard records in the butterfly.
2016-17: Budai was a three-time All-American, placing third in the 100-yard freestyle, fourth in the 100-yard backstroke and seventh in the 50-yard freestyle at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships. At the GLIAC championship meet, the freshman won the 50-, 100- and 200-yard freestyles and the 100-yard backstroke while also anchoring the gold-medalist 800 freestyle relay. For his efforts, he was named the GLIAC Swimmer and Freshman of the Year.
Before NMU: Budai is a member of the Hungarian National Team and placed second and third at the 2015 Hungary National Championships. He has also broken four age group records in Hungary.
