2013-14: Opened the season with two second place finishes in the classic at the Michigan Tech Opener and Michigan Tech Challenge. Won the freestyle race at the Telemark Distance with a time of 37:52.6. Also finished in second place for the classic at the same event. Once again won the freestyle race at the Mt. Itasca Distance with a time of 26:46.0. Qualified for the NCAA Championships with a victory at the NCAA Central Regional. At the Championships he finished in 6th place with a time of 25:24.40, which was good for Second Team All-American honors.
2012-13: Lettered for the second time. Named an All-American after finishing 10th in the freestyle race at the NCAA Championships with a time of 50:22.0. Placed 23rd in the classic at the NCAA Championships. Finished third in the 10k Classic at the Wildcat Open (Dec. 1) and fourth in the freestyle. Placed fourth in the 10k freestyle at the St. Scholastica’s Christmas Classic (Dec. 15). At the U.S. Nationals (Jan. 2-6), finished 81st overall in the classic sprint and 16th , 29th overall in the 15k freestyle and second overall in the 10k classic with a time of 28:09.3. Placed 14th in the freestyle springs at the CCSA First Round Championships (Feb. 2-3) and won the 3x10k relay race. At the CCSA Championships (Feb. 16-17), placed second in both the 10k classic and 20k freestyle races. Finished fourth in the 10k classic and third in the 15k freestyle at the NCAA Central Regional (Feb. 23-24). Named team’s newcomer. CCSA Skier of the week for Feb. 21.
2011-12: Lettered for the first time. Placed 14th in the 10k freestyle at the USSA Opener at Michigan Tech, and fifth in the 10k classic. Finished 25th in the 10k classic with a time of 23:51.8 at the Mayor’s Challenge. At the CCSA Championship, took fourth in the 20k classic and third in the 3x5k freestyle relay with teammates Chris Bowler and Kevin Cutts. Placed seventh in the 10k freestyle at the NCAA Central Regional and third in the 15k classic with a time of 40:49.1.
High School: Lettered four years under Doug Boonstra at Eden Prairie High School. Was named all-conference, all-state and captain of team. Also ran track and cross country. Was named all-conference and all-state in cross country. Finished 14th in the nation at the Nike Cross Country Nationals.
Personal: Enjoys video games, hanging with friends and watching movies. Majoring in criminal justice. Son of Michael and Karla. Born on February 9, 1993.
