Biography

2012-13: Named team’s scholar-athlete. (Indoor) Won the distance medley relay and finished 14th in the one-mile at the Pointer Invite (Feb. 2). NMU’s top finisher at the GVSU Big Meet (Feb. 8-9), placing 13th in the one-mile with a time of 5:16.64; member of the 19th place distance medley. Took first in the 1,600 and third in the 4x400 relay at the NMU Meet (Feb. 16). At the GLIAC Championships (Feb. 23-24), finished ninth in the distance medley relay and 11th in the one-mile. Named to the GLIAC all-academic excellence team.
(Outdoor) Named to the GLIAC all-academic excellence team. 

2011-12: (Indoor) Ninth place at the UW-Elite Meet in the 800-meter dash. Placed second in the one mile at both the Pointer Invitational and the Northern Challenge. Finished 11th in the one mile at the GLIAC Indoor Championships.
(Outdoor) Won the 1,500-meter at the St. Norbert Twilight with a time of 4:53.13. Finished second at the Oshkosh Invite in the 1,500-meter, and 15th at GVSU. At the GLIAC Outdoor Championship, placed 10th in the 1,500-meter with a time of 4:44.26 and 17th in the 5,000-meter run.

High School: Varsity soccer: MVP, all-conference selection, had the most points and was the team captain. Varsity track: MVP, all-conference, state qualifier, Hamline Elite Meet qualifier, team captain, holds three school records: 4x800m, 1600m, 3200m. Also participated in junior varsity hockey.

Personal:  2011 graduate of Delano High School. Enjoys running, swimming, biking, playing hockey and soccer, reading and photography. Majoring in nursing. Daughter of Michael and Brita Halonen. Born on June 5, 1993.
