MARQUETTE, Mich. – Tickets for the 2026 Northern Michigan University Sports Hall of Fame Banquet are now on sale and will remain available through Friday, Sept. 11.
The Northern Michigan University Athletics Department is proud to welcome the newest members of the NMU Sports Hall of Fame while also recognizing the inaugural inductee into the department's newly established Ring of Honor.
The 2026 NMU Sports Hall of Fame class includes:
Bernie Anderson - Wrestling and Football Coach
Rachel Helm - Swim and Dive
Shayla Manitowabi - Track and Field
Kirsten Namesnik Silvester - Swim and Dive
Mark Rosen - Volleyball Coach
1979 Women's Field Hockey Team
In addition, the first inductee into the NMU Athletics Ring of Honor is longtime USOEC Boxing Coach Al Mitchell.
The induction ceremony will take place on Friday, Sept. 18, in the Northern Center Ballrooms on campus.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., followed by a cash bar from 5:30-6:30 p.m. A buffet dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the induction ceremony starting at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $40 for the general public and $20 for children ages 12 and under.
Tickets can be purchased through the NMU Ticket Office online at
nmu.universitytickets.com or in person at the Berry Events Center through July 19 and at the Superior Dome beginning July 20. Tickets will be available for purchase through Sept. 11.
