Round One of Upper Iowa Spring Invite Canceled due to Weather

The men and women will pick back up tomorrow morning

WATERLOO, Iowa -- The opening round of the Upper Iowa Spring Invite has been canceled due to inclement weather.

Both the men and the women got through only a handful of holes before multiple weather delays due to heavy rain and thunderstorms forced the tournament directors to call the first round.

On the men's side, the team was sixth of 12 with a +4 score through 4-5 holes. Arthur Ylitalo was even through four holes, Jacob Daavettila and Tyler Annala were +1 through five and four holes, respectively. Levi Pennala and Harvey Ylitalo were +2 and +3, and Brady Badker was even through three as an individual.

On the women's side, the team was sixth of 10 teams with a score of +10 through 4-5 holes. Aavra Relich was +1 thru four holes, Maddy Martens +2 thru five, Abbie Pietila +3 thru four, and Payton Donnelly +4 thru five. Gabriella Moreau and Abby Luke (individual) were both +7 after the delays.

Scores from today will not count, and teams will play 18 holes tomorrow morning. Play is set to resume at 9 a.m. ET, with both the men and women's live scoring available through Scoreboard.
