PREVIEW: Nordic Ski to compete in Ariens CCSA Invite

The Wildcats will ski in frigid temperatures this weekend in Brillion, Wisconsin

MARQUETTE, Mich. -- The NMU nordic ski teams are on the road to the first conference meet of the 2025/26 campaign.

After a successful outing at the US National Championships two weeks ago in New York, the 'Cats head three and a half hours south to Brillion, Wisconsin, to compete in the Ariens Nordic CCSA Invite, hosted by UW-Green Bay at the Ariens Nordic Center.

Originally scheduled for a 15km skate on Saturday and a mixed relay on Sunday, the weekend had to shift due to impending extreme cold temperatures in the area.

The 'Cats will now only compete on Sunday, January 25, racing in the 15k skate individual start, which is an NCAA Qualifying event. There is also a junior/U20 7.5km that will take place, with a few 'Cats eligible to qualify for junior nationals. The 3x1 mixed relay, originally scheduled for Sunday, will not take place.
