Men's Nordic Completes Nationals with 20k

HANOVER, NH. - The NMU men's nordic team wrapped up competition from this years 2025 NCAA Championships with the 20k mass start.

All three Wildcats finished back-to-back-to-back. Adrik Kraftson in 36th at 50:50.6, Kristoffer Karsrud in 37th at 51:11.8, and Luke Fricker in 38th at 52:35.9. 

Of CCSA skiers, it was Tryg Solberg of Michigan Tech leading the way, finishing 1st among the conference and 20th overall at 47:44.1, earning 11 team points. Chase High of the College of Saint Scholastica finished second among conference skiers and 32nd at 50:17.1, and Colin Freed of Michigan Tech in 34th at 50:27.3. 

Of CCSA schools, Michigan Tech claimed 11 team points to both of the Wildcats and Saints zero. 

40 individuals from 17 institutions competed, led by Joe Davies of Utah at 43:33.9, adding a gold medal to his bronze from Thursday. In silver was John Hagenbuch of the host university Dartmouth, adding silver to his gold medal from Thursday. Brian Bushey of Utah rounded out the podium at 45:11.3 after finishing sixth on Thursday.

Utah claimed the most team points with 95, followed by Dartmouth with 76 and Colorado with 59.

The 'Cats now have a few weeks off before wrapping up the 2024/25 season in Lake Placid, New York, competing in the US Spring National Championships & SuperTour Finals from March 26 to March 30.
