DULUTH, Minn. - The NMU women's nordic ski team wrapped up day one of competition from the CCSA St. Schoalsica Invite, claiming gold and silver in the 7.5k classic.
A dominant outing,
Henriette Nilssen finished first with her final time of 21:03.5, 30 seconds faster than second place. Nilssen was in control the whole way, posting lap times of 6:37.1, 13:42.4 (7:05.1), and 21:03.5 (7:21.3), all of which were the fastest among each respective lap.
Teammate
Victoria Dybwad claimed silver with her finish time of 21:34.5, and similar to Nilssen, Dybwad claimed the second-fastest lap times in all three of her laps: posting times of 6:38.8, 14:04.8 (7:26.0), and crossing the line at 21:34.5 (7:29.7), 15 seconds ahead of Michigan Tech's Alice McKnight.
Jordan Parent and
Pearl Harvey rounded out the 'Cats in the top 10, finishing back-to-back at eighth and ninth, respectively. Parent crossed the line at 22:22.7, and Harvey at 22:24.1.
Ella Niznik finished 17th with her time of 23:45.2, and
Lena Kjelstrup rounded out the Wildcat skiers in 33rd with her time of 25:25.2
