ANCHORAGE, AK. - The NMU men's nordic ski team wrapped up competition from the 2025 United States Cross Country Ski National Championship with the 1.4k freestyle sprint, led by
Kristoffer Karsrud and
Luke Fricker making the cut and advancing to the bracket rounds.

Kristoffer Karsrud had blazing fast qualifying run to earn him a spot in the final heats, finishing third overall and first among conference skiers with his time of 2:44.71, just 1.20 seconds behind the fastest time during qualifying. Karsrud won his quarterfinal bracket with a time of 2:48.11 before narrowly missing his shot in the finals, missing the cut by .38 seconds with a time of 2:57.77. Karsrud finished the day first among conference skiers.
Luke Fricker finished inside the top-20 overall during qualifying to earn himself a spot in the final heats, finishing 19th overall and third among conference skiers with his time of 2:49.88. Fricker placed third in his bracket, missing out the cut for the semifinals by one spot, posting a time of 2:49.28 and moving up to second among CCSA racers to join teammate Karsrud atop the conference podium
Adrik Kraftson rounded out the NMU skiers to race, finishing 54th overall and eighth among conference skiers with his time of 2:57.38.

The 'Cats now look ahead to 17th and 18th, when the team travels to Brillion, Wisconsin, for the Ariens Nordic CCSA invite, the first conference race of the season.
