ANCHORAGE, AK. - The NMU men's nordic ski team competed in the 1.4k classic sprint, completing day two from the US Cross Country Ski National Championships.
The race today began with a qualification race of 218 registered skiers before making cuts and narrowing the field to five quarter-final brackets of six racers, taking the top 30 skiers from qualifying. From there, the field was narrowed down to 12 for the semi-finals before taking the final six for the finals.
Kristoffer Karsrud made it to the final 12 racers, racing in the second semifinal bracket and posting a time of 3:05.58. Karsrud made it to the semi's with a quarterfinal time of 2:59.87 and qualification time of 3:05.93.
Luke Fricker landed just outside of qualification, finishing 35th with a time of 3:07.34.
Hendrik Peterson and
Jonathan Clarke finished one after another with times of 3:17.74 and 3:18.03, respectively, and
Adrik Kraftson rounded out the 'Cats with his time of 3:21.10.
