BRILLION, Wisc. - The NMU men's and women's nordic ski team wrapped up its opening weekend of conference skiing with a mixed freestyle relay. The 'NMU 1' team took home first-place honors.

Teams were constructed consisting of four skiers, two women and two men, who each skied one leg of the course to combine for a total time.
The team of
Henriette Nilssen,
Kristoffer Karsrud,
Victoria Dybwad, and
Luke Fricker finished first among the 13 teams with a time of 50:59.4.
Nilssen opened the race for the 'Cats and posted a leg time of 14:12.7, followed by Karsrud with a time of 11:25.3, Dybwad in at 13:18.4, and capped off with Fricker in at 12:03.1.
Michigan Tech 1 and Michigan Tech 2 took home the second and third place spot.
Northern Michigan 2, consisting of
Jordan Parent (14:44.2),
Jonathan Clarke (12:05.2),
Ella Niznik (14:30.5), and
Adrik Kraftson (11:52.5)Â finished 7th with their time of 53:12.3.
After a succesful weekend, the 'Cats focus will now shift to the first weekend of February, when the team travels to Duluth, Minnesota for the College of Saint Scholastica CCSA Invite on February 1 and 2.
