CALUMET, Mich. - The NMU women's nordic ski team opened the 2024/25 season in Calumet on Saturday, competing in the Swedetown Season Opener.
"Lots of snow up here in Calumet but was freezing rain during so trails were a bit icy and tricky,", commented head coach
Andy Keller after the 7.5km interval start race. "A fun race to break off the rust and get the season going."
Henriette Nilssen found the podium, finishing second in the under-29 age group with her time of 20:01.6.
Pearl Harvey was next for the 'Cats, finishing fifth with her time of 20:56.2.
Rounding out the 'Cats was
Ella Niznik, finishing 12th with a time of 22:21.2.

NMU next takes to the trail on December 12 and 14, competing in the Gitchi Gami Games from the Birkie trail system in Cable, Wisconsin. Thursday will feature the freestyle sprint, and Saturday will showcase the classic sprint.
