OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Northern Michigan wrestling team competed against the UW-Oshkosh Titans on Friday night, falling 30-17.
Oshkosh won at 103 via forfeit to get things going, giving the Titans a 5-0 lead.
At 110, Audrey Swiderek of Oshkosh won over
Trinity Valentin (TF 10-0 2:20) for four points and a 9-0 lead for the home team. The Titans won again by forfeit 117 to make it a 14-0 score. Oshkosh continued its push in the bout at 124, with Mya Delleree from the Titans winning over
Zhivanna Magdaleno (Fall 2:50) for five points and a 19-0 lead.
At 131, Annesley Day of Oshkosh was victorious over
Sharon Leon (Dec 10-3) for a 3-1 score in the match and 22-1 lead overall.
NMU picked up a win at 138, with
Samantha Chaon besting Paige Haaf (Fall 3:34) for five points. The score was 22-6.
The Titans got it back at 145, as Nellie Stagg won over
Priscilla Hartwell (Fall 2:22) for five points and a 27-6 score.
Another Northern win came at 160,
Sophia Bassino making quick work of Leah Schwenker (Fall 1:23) for five points, and a 27-11 score overall.
Mickaela Keane won by forfeit at 180 to follow, making the gap 27-16.
In the final dual at 207, Alivia Davey of the Titans won over
Ozioma Ogu (Dec 8-4) 3-1 to make the final score 30-17.
