GLADSTONE, Mich. - A group of runners from the Northern Michigan cross country team competed in the 5K Bay College Invitational on Friday, the final tune-up ahead of the GLIAC Championship race next weekend. Northern collected a first place finish of six competing teams.

With four 'Cats placing inside the top-9, and all seven collecting a top-16 finish to place in the top half of the field, the Green and Gold crew ran away victorious.  

Brooke Lemos led the way for the Green and Gold collective, crossing the finish line in a time of 20:39.3 for 5th place. Right behind her was Lola Korpi at 20:46.6 for 6th. 

Taking 8th place in a time of 20:56.5 was Ella DeBruyn. Samantha Zolnierek followed for a 9th place finish, ending with a time of 21:02.8. 

Endla Harris finished in 12th at 21:34.0, Taryn Maki crossed at 21:50.8 for 14th, and Attica Brandt took 16th with a time of 22:41.5.  

Fiona Metzo of the NMU Club was the individual winner with a time of 19:55.5.
