Lake Placid, N.Y. - The Northern Michigan University men's and women's nordic ski teams traveled to Lake Placid, New York over the weekend to compete in the NCAA Skiing Championships.
The 'Cats earned 20.5 team points over the four separate events to finish 14th led by
Merle Richter, who amassed 12.5 points for her club over two events. The full results can be found

Thursday, March 9
Men's 10K Freestyle
Luke Fricker and
Kristoffer Karsrud finished 37th and 38th with times of 26:21.2 and 26:21.9, respectively.Â
Women's 5K Freestyle
Katerina Hyncicova and
Merle Richter finished 26th and 27th in the 5K with times of 14:03.7 and 14:03.9, respectively, and earned a combined 8.5 points for the 'Cats.
Saturday, March 11
Women's 20K Classic
Merle Richter led the way for the 'Cats with a 22nd-place finish on a time of 1:06:09.0 to earn her team nine points.
Katerina Hyncicova was next for the Green and Gold, placing 28th with a time of 1:07:09.5 to earn her team three points.Â
Men's 20K Classic
Luke Fricker placed 33rd and
Kristoffer Karsrud placed 38th with times of 1:02:36.8 and 1:05:31.9, respectively.Â
