ISHPEMING, Mich. - The Northern Michigan nordic skiing squad competed in the Regional Championships this past weekend in Ishpeming, as the Wildcats took second overall. NMU saw four podium finishes with
Merle Richter winning gold in the 20KM Women's Classic Mass Start.
The Wildcats accumulated 244 points on the weekend, narrowly falling to Michigan Tech's 245 and beating out the 242 from the College of St. Scholastica. NMU took first place on the women's side and third place on the men's side.

Day One
5KM Women's Freestyle
Katerina Hyncicova led the way for the Wildcats in the women's 5KM freestyle, finishing on the podium at third with a time of 15:04.6.
Merle Richter finished right behind at fourth with a time of 15:21.4, and
Lauren McCollor and
Pearl Harvey rounded out the 'Cats in the top 10 placing seventh and ninth with times of 15:32.0 and 15:36.0, respectively.
10KM Men's
Cooper Lennox was the only Wildcat to finish in the top 10, finishing eighth with a time of 27:33.1.
