CABLE, Wis. - The men's nordic skiing team was back in action on Saturday in Cable, Wisconsin for the Cable CXC Cup. The first of two days saw the Classic Sprint, with
Kristoffer Karsrud claiming the top finish for the Green and Gold.
After narrowly missing a first place finish in sprint last week in Duluth, Karsud outraced the rest of the competition by nearly two seconds, finishing at 3:15.8 for first place, edging Axel Aflodal of Michigan Tech, the winner of last week's sprint.
Luke Fricker also made it through to the finals race of six competitors, finishing in fourth place at a time of 3:27.7.
Behind Karsrud and Fricker,
Jonathan Clarke (3:32.00) and
Cooper Lennox (3:34.71) raced in the semifinals, with Clarke taking 7th overall and Lennox 11th.
Adrik Kraftson raced in the quarterfinals and had a time of 3:34.57, finishing in 21st.
