CABLE, Wis. - The Northern Michigan University men's and women's nordic ski team traveled to Cable, Wisconsin to compete in the Seeley Hills Classic. Started in 1992, the Seeley Hills Classic is the second-largest annual classic cross-country ski event on the Birkebeiner Trail.
The men saw a top-10 finish along with the women posting two top-10 finishes in the 32K classic, and the men saw one student-athlete compete in their respective sprint quarterfinal heat along with the women with two athletes in their respective semifinal heats.

Saturday - 32K Classic
Men
Luke Fricker led the way for the Wildcats with a top-10 finish, placing 10th with a time of 1:30:29. His time was the second best among collegiate competitors.
Adrik Kraftson,
Jonathan Clarke, and
Cooper Lennox finished neck and neck at 20, 21, and 22 with times of 1:33:00, 1:33:02, and 1:33:09, respectively.
Hendrik Peterson rounded out the 'Cats, placing 25 with a time of 1:33:50.
Women
The women tied for first place in the team score with the College of St. Scholastica. NMU saw two top-10 finishes from
Katerina Hyncicova (second place collegiately) and
Kolibri Drobish (fourth place collegiately) with
Lily Brown (fifth place collegiately) close behind, placing 8th, 10th, and 11th with times of 1:45:49, 1:46:49, and 1:47:11, respectively.
Lauren McCollor finished 14th with a 1:50:37 time, and
Pearl Harvey rounded out the 'Cats at 18th with a time of 1:52:17.
Sunday - 1.3km Classic Sprint
Men
Cooper Lennox represented the men with a quarterfinal finish of 3:24.73, finishing 12th overall.
Women
The women took first place, winning the team score for the weekend. The 'Cats saw two compete in semifinal heats, with
Katerina Hyncicova placing first at the collegiate level (10th overall), and
Lily Brown taking 3rd among her fellow collegiate competitors.
Kolibri Drobish finished fifth and
Lauren McCollor sixth among the college skiers.
World University Games
Kristoffer Karsrud competed at the World University Games, finishing 5th in the skate sprint.
Merle Richter also competed, finishing 23rd overall.

The team will travel to Duluth, Minnesota for the Grand Avenue Nordic CCSA Invite that takes place Saturday, February 4, and Sunday, February 5.
