Cross Country Wraps Up Action at Lewis Conference Crossover

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – In a field that featured 11 teams that were nationally ranked or receiving votes the Northern Michigan University cross country team held their own at the Conference Crossover hosted by Lewis University.

The 'Cats placed ahead of a team receiving votes in the most recent USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Cross Country poll in Concordia (Calif.).

Wildcat   SCORING 'CATS

The Wildcat squad was led by Madison Malon. Malon finished 39th out of 258 runners with a time of 23:14.80. She was followed by Anni Skillicorn who placed 55th with a mark of 23:34.2.

Elise Longley was next across for NMU as she finished with a time of 24:14.4 placing 97th.

Next up for the 'Cats was Emily Sterling who finished 128th in 24:41.4.

Three more NMU student-athletes finished the race in scoring position with freshman Talon Prusi finishing 140th (24:51.8), sophomore Meghan Langworthy placing 144th (24:55.2), and sophomore Ithaca Bergholtz crossing the line in 155th (25:03.8).

Wildcat   TEAM RESULTS

The Wildcat team placed 14th in the women's race with a top-five times mark of 2:00:36.30.

Wildcat   UP NEXT

NMU takes on the postseason next with the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship. The meet takes place on October 23 and is hosted by Saginaw Valley State University.
