MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan University Volleyball hits the road for the final weekend of regular season action as they head to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foes Saginaw Valley State University Friday night and then Lake Superior State University Saturday afternoon

| LAST TIME OUT
The Wildcats hosted their final two matches inside Vandament Arena this past weekend. On Friday, the squad hosted Northwood University and picked up their second shutout of the season over the Timberwolves and fifth of the season, winning the match 25-17, 25-22, 25-19. The returned to honor their three seniors prior to Saturday's match with #20 Ferris State University but fell to Bulldogs 3-1.
| IN THE TOURNEY
With the team's win over Northwood, the Wildcats clinched a return to the GLIAC Tournament. NMU is currently tied for the sixth seed with Wayne State University, but holds the tiebreaker over the Warriors. They are one game back of Grand Valley State University for the fifth seed, and also hold the tiebreaker over the Lakers.
The Wildcats are one game ahead of Davenport University, who is in the eighth seed, but hold the tiebreaker over the Panthers as well.
| HITTING SUCCESS
Three Widcats are ranked in the top five in the GLIAC in different statistical categories. Sophomore Lizzy Stark (Minneapolis, Minn.) is fourth in the league with 3.61 kills per set. She is also ranked fourth with 350 kills on the season.
Freshman Abigail Durecki (South Lyon, Mich.) is fourth in hitting percentage as she boasts a .326 success percentage, committing just 66 errors on 564 attempts. She has committed the second fewest errors among all players who have over 500 attempts.
| PROTECTING THE NET
Senior Sarah Kuehn (Green Bay, Wis.) has 90 blocks this season giving her a total of 344 blocks in her career and is just 10 blocks away from sixth place. Here 1.11 blocks per set places her seventh all-time.
| NMU VERSUS SVSU
The all-time series with the Cardinals sees NMU lead 58-13. The Cardinals are are 18-7 on the season, 10-4 in the GLIAC and are guarenteed a home match in the first round of the GLIAC Tournament with a victory this weekend or a GVSU loss.
| NMU VERSUS LSSU
NMU has controlled the series that began in 1974 with a 85-167-1 all-time record and have won 62 of the past 64 meetings since 1990. The Wildcats held a 28-game winning streak over the Lakers, but Lake State was able to capture victory over NMU earlier this season. LSSU is 8-17 on the season but have dropped their last five matches after winning four straight.
