BAY CITY, Mich. -- Redshirt sophomore Sarah Kuehn (Green Bay, Wis./De Pere) was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball North Player of the Week.
Kuehn led the Wildcats with 30 kills, averaging 3.75 kills a set and hit at a .451 clip in two matches. Defensively, she added two solo blocks and 15 block assists to finish the weekend with 17 total blocks, averaging 2.12 blocks per set.
Kuehn helped guide the Northern Michigan University team to a 3-2 upset victory over #17 Ferris State University Friday. In the match, Kuehn totaled a team-best 18 kills on 28 attempts with just four hitting errors, finishing the night with a .500 attack percentage. On defense, she finished with eight total blocks.
After helping guide the team to a sweep over Northwood University Saturday, Kuehn and the Wildcats were named the #2 seed for the GLIAC Tournament and will now host Davenport University Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
