ALLENDALE, Mich. – Northern Michigan University Track & Field competed in the Al Owens Classic hosted by Grand Valley State University and came away with three school records and two new NCAA Provisional times.
| FALLING RECORDS
Sophomore Izabelle Peterson (Marquette, Mich.) broke two school records on the day and posted NCAA Provisional marks in both races. In the 100 Meter Dash, Peterson finished in 11.76 to take second place. She followed it with a time of 24.13 in the 200 Meter Dash to win the race.
| RELAY SUCCESS
The team of junior Sydney McPeters (Sugarland, Texas), and seniors Lynsey Collins (Escanaba, Mich.), Paige Dutcher (Williamston, Mich.), and Shayla Huebner (Marquette, Mich.) set an NMU record in the 4x400 Meter Relay. The team timed in at 3:48.80 to also win the race.
| JUMPING TO SUCCESS
Senior Michelle Juergen (Gau-Odernheim, Germany) took victory in the high jump with a mark of 5 feet, 5.75 inches. She then took third in both the long jump, 18 feet, 6 inches, and the triple jump, 38 feet, 0 inches.
Sophomore Dunja Drobac (Novi Sad, Serbia) jumped 36 feet, 3 inches for fourth in the triple jump.
| OTHER TOP FINISHERS
Junior Katelyn Smith (Gaylord, Mich.) claimed first place in the 5,000 Meter Run, coming in at 18:20.76.
Dutcher came across at 57.86 for second place in the 400 Meter Dash and Huebner was second in the 800 Meter Run in a time of 2:12.01.
| TEAM RESULTS
As a team, NMU finished with 117.111 points to finish second among 18 women's teams. The meet also combined the men and women's scores for a combined team score. In the combined score NMU's 117.111 points kept them in second place out of 25 total teams competing between the men's and women's at the meet.

The team will next head to the Gina Relays at Hillsdale College on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27.
