ROCHESTER, Mich. – Northern Michigan University Track & Field broke two school records and posted one NCAA Provisional mark as the team won the the Golden Grizzlies Invitational hosted by Oakland University.
| BREAKING RECORDS
In the 400 Meter Hurdles, junior Megan Martin (Hillsdale, Mich.) posted a time of 1:03.96 break the school record on her way to winning the race. Lynsey Collins (Escanaba, Mich.) crossed in third place at a time of 1:06.61.
| A PROVISIONAL JUMP
Senior Michelle Juergen (Gau-Odernheim, Germany) jumped an NCAA Provisional height once again, this time reaching 5 feet, 7.75 inches to win the high jump.
| FRIDAY'S ACTION
The meet started Friday night with the Wildcats earning points in four events. Junior Hanna Torvi (St. Paul, Minn.) highlighted the evening by winning the 3000 Meter steeplechase in a time of 11:21.93. Close behind, sophomore Elise Longley (Bloomington, Minn.) was fifth, crossing the line at 11:52.02.
In Friday's field events, the Wildcats got second place in the long jump and the javelin throw. Sophomore Lauren Alarie (Highland, Mich.) posted a jump of 16 feet, 3.75 inches. In the Javelin, sophomore Dunja Drobac (Novi Sad, Serbia) throw a distance of 96 feet, 8 inches.
| THE HEPTATHLON
Sophomore Nina Augsten (Koenigsbronn, Germany) came away with 4,463 points to win the seven-event Heptathlon. Freshman Kelsie Sibbald (Barbeau, Mich.) posted 3,817 points for fourth place and Maddie Campbell (Baddeck, N.S.) finished with 3,122 points for seventh.
Augsten got the victory with first place in the long jump and the javelin, and finished second in the 800 Meter Run.
| RELAY SUCCESS
On Saturday, the Wildcats got victory from their 4x100 Meter Relay with a winning time of 47.82. The team consisted of junior Sydney McPeters (Sugarland, Texas), Alarie, senior Paige Dutcher (Williamston, Mich.) and Peterson.
Freshman Hannah Jones (Williamston, Mich.), Martin, McPeters and Dutcher then teamed up to win the 4x400 Meter Relay. The squad posted a time of 4:04.79 to win the race.

| SPRINTING SUCCESS
NMU saw six reach the finals in the 100 Meter Dash. Peterson led the way at 12.09 while McPeters was third at 12.53. Right behind, with a time of 12.57 was Alarie with senior Jenna Long (Suamico, Wis.) taking fifth at 12.62. Dutcher came across in 12.71 for seventh and Collins rounded out the race with a time of 13.01.

In the 800 Meter run, Jones finished fourth, posting a time 2:22.68.
| SATURDAY'S FIELD EVENTS
In the shot put, Buss threw 37'9' for third place while fourth place was Rivest at 37'6.5."
Drobac, with a jump of34'4.75" in the triple jump, came in second.
| TEAM RESULTS
Northern Michigan defeated 11 other teams to win the meet with 163 points, defeating the hosts who posted 150 points for second place. In total, the Wildcats beat three Division I programs and three other Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference schools.

The Wildcats return to action next weekend at the Al Owens Classic hosted by Grand Valley State University. The meet takes place both Friday and Saturday.
