MARQUETTE, Mich. – The 4x400 Meter Relay team was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week as Northern Michigan University Indoor Track & Field heads to the GLIAC Championships Saturday and Sunday.

| TRACK ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
The team of junior Sydney McPeters (Sugarland, Texas), senior Lynsey Collins (Escanaba, Mich.), Paige Dutcher (Williamston, Mich.) and senior Shayla Huebner (Marquette, Mich.) are now eighth in the NCAA with an NCAA Provisional time after setting a new school record with a time of 3:44.77 at the Titan Challenge hosted by University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The team is currently second in the GLIAC heading into the GLIAC Championships.
| JUMPING UP AND OUT
Senior Michelle Juergen (Gau-Odernheim, Germany) has achieved NCAA Provisionals in two events this season. She is ranked 11th nationally with a height of 5’7.25, which is sixth in the GLIAC. Her jump of 18’9 in the long jump is 4th in the conference. The senior is also top ten in the GLIAC in the triple jump, where her distance of 38’1.25 puts her sixth.
| HUEBNER RUNS
Huebner is top ten in two different races. She is ranked 4th in the conference in 400 meter dash with a time of 56.44. Her season-best time of 2:11.23 place her 7th in the league and she is ranked 15th in the nation. She has also achieved NCAA Provisional time in both races.
| MEET SCHEDULE
Saturday features finals in the weight throw, long jump and pole vault, starting at 1:30 p.m. Preliminary races then take place starting at 3:35 with the 60 meter hurdles. The 400 meter dash prelim, and 60 meter dash prelim will follow. The 5000 meter run, 200 meter dash prelim and the 4000 meter distance medley relay wrap up the final day.
On Sunday, the action begins with the high jump at 10:30, followed by the shot put and the triple jump. Running events begin at 12:15 with the one mile run.
