2017-18

Cross Country - Earning all-region accolades, Smith finished 19th at the NCAA Division II Midwest Region Cross Country Championships. She finished out her season with a 21:59.9 good for 56th at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. Top NCAA Division II finisher at the Spartan Invite on September 15. Her 22:02 was good for ninth overall at the event and earned her recognition as the GLIAC Runner of the Week. At the Roy Griak Invitational, Smith ran a 22:44.4 (6k) and took third in a field of over 400 runners. Smith finished sixth at the GLIAC Championships with a career-best time of 21:56.9 (6k). Named to the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team.

Indoor – Owns the second-best 5,000-meter run time in program history after finishing in 17:29.59 at the GLIAC Championships. Competed four times in the 3,000-meter run, finishing with a season-best 10:22.12 converted time at the SVSU “Jet’s Pizza” Invite. The mark is the third-fastest time in NMU history. Named to GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team.

Outdoor – Ran in the 5,000-meters on four occasions during the season, recording a season-best time of 17:36.65 at the Bison Outdoor Classic. Smith was the top finisher in the event at the Spartan Invite, finishing in 17:59.50. Also competed once in the 3,000-meters finishing in 10:51.08 at the St. Norbert Twilight. Named to GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team.

2016-17

Cross Country - Took seventh (19:12.01) in the 5K at the Chris Yanni Memorial Invitational on Sept. 10. Represented Northern Michigan at the GLIAC Championship (66th, 24:31.6), the NCAA Midwestern Regional (81st, 22:46.84) on Nov. 5 and the NCAA National Championship (186th, 23:29.4) on Nov. 19.

Indoor - Earned a victory each in the mile and 3,000-meters, while also earning three other top-five finishes. Earned a fifth-place finish as a part of the distance medley relay team at the GLIAC Championship. Also finished 12th and 15th at the conference meet in the mie and 3,000-meters. 

Outdoor - Picked-up two victories in the 5,000-meters and another in the 3,000-meters. Awarded third-team All-GLIAC after a third-place performance in the 5,000-meters at the GLIAC Championships. 

Before NMU: Excelled at Gaylord High School in cross country and track & field. Was voted to the all-state cross country and track & field teams and was a three-time all-regional and all-conference selection. Mainly ran three track events: the 800-meter run, 1,600-meter run and 3,200-meter run. Was also named to the all-state academic team and was on the academic honor roll all four years.
