    AUSTIN, Tex.—A pair of Northern Michigan University Cross Country and Track & Field student-athletes were named Google Cloud Third-Team Academic All-America® Wednesday afternoon. Senior Kameron Burmeister (Menominee, Michigan) and junior Shayla Huebner (Marquette, Michigan) received the honor from the College Sports Information Directors of America which recognizes athletic and academic achievement.

    MARQUETTE, Mich.— Northern Michigan University Athletics announced their major award winners Friday afternoon for the 2017-18 year. NMU Nordic Skiing junior Ian Torchia (Rochester, Minnesota) and Women's Swimming & Diving sophomore Rachel Helm (Newcastle upon Tyne, England) were named Male and Female Athletes of the Year; NMU Volleyball head coach Mike Lozier was awarded the Coach of the Year honor; NMU Women's Basketball junior Taylor Hodell (Wausau, Wisconsin) received the Humanitarian of the Year award; while NMU Hockey senior Robbie Payne (Gaylord, Michigan) and Cross Country and Track & Field senior Kameron Burmeister (Menominee, Michigan) earned the Male and Female Gildo Canale Outstanding Senior awards.

    MARQUETTE, Mich.—A pair of Northern Michigan University Women’s Track & Field student-athletes have been named Google Cloud Academic All-District 4 by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America. The teams were announced Tuesday afternoon on the CoSIDA website. The two honorees were senior Kameron Burmeister (Menominee, Michigan) and junior Shayla Huebner (Marquette, Michigan).

Huebner was one of six females student-athletes across the league to be recognized with the award for their academic and athletic success.
