Three Wildcats Compete in Discus Throw at NCAA Outdoor Championships

BRADENTON, Fla. — Northern Michigan's Samanthia Johnson, Dana Shove and Jasmine Williams competed Friday afternoon in the discus throw at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Johnson will leave Marquette as a three-time All-American in this event. She earned a spot on the second team after placing 12th with a mark of 151-10.

Williams finished 15th (150-4) while Shove took 22nd (137-1). Northern Michigan led all schools with three discus throw participants.

Previously, Johnson earned first team All-American honors at the 2016 and 2015 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, claiming sixth (155-10) and eighth (159-2) respectively. She and Williams each qualified for three outdoor championship meets while Wildcats.

Tomorrow, Ine Mylle will compete in the triple jump at 4:45 p.m. The event will be streamed live on NCAA.com
